Texas City Emergency Rental Assistance Program
The City of Texas City is providing $435,000 in federal funds for rental assistance for Texas City residents who are directly impacted by COVID-19. The funds will be distributed by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.

The Texas City Emergency Rental Assistance Program is available for renters who live within the City of Texas City limits. Tenants must have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, experiencing housing instability, and have a household income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income.
Both the tenant and landlord must apply, using the online application available through TexasCityHelp.org. Funds will be distributed in the order in which completed applications are submitted by both eligible tenants and their landlords, prioritized based on the highest level of need.
Eligible households may qualify for up to three months of assistance, including at least one month of past-due rent, not to exceed 120% of Fair Market Rates in Texas City/Galveston County.

- Have income at or below 80% of HUD Area Median Family Income
- Must have experienced financial impact from the COVID-19 pandemic
- Must be at risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability

Both tenant and landlord must submit an application to request assistance for the same property in which the tenant resides. Check to see if you’re eligible. Then, use the button below to apply. You will set up a profile first. Use that same log-in information later to check on the status of your application.

Catholic Charities’ staff of social service providers is highly experienced in helping people in crisis. We will evaluate the eligibility of each applicant for the Texas City funds and make timely decisions to get funds to qualified families as quickly as possible.
